Crews stretched thin by wildfires

Firefighting resources throughout the West were taxed Tuesday by several large wildfires. A wind shift and thinner vegetation helped slow the Colorado blaze that has burned one third of the nation’s largest archaeological preserve. But fires continued to rage at the historic site and throughout the region, including California, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico and Washington.
